About Us

Background:

The Nidagravel manufacturing process is in a highly automated production line at the Nidaplast factory in France, that is certified in accordance with international standards: ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 1801. Nidaplast has been at the leading edge of high quality, environmentally sound, green building solutions for over 20 years and is a proud member of the Multinational Etex Group, headquartered in Brussels.

Nidagravel was designed for gravel specifically, with the original design still the industry standard. Many companies have tried to copy the Nidagravel panels, offering smaller panels, which require clips and connectors, often a weak link in the durability and soundness, in addition to a longer installation time. Other companies have tried to modify products designed for grass, rolled goods, with less than stellar results. Nidagravel, the original, is more flexible, more durable, more resilient...truly simple and elegant.

User Friendly:

Nidagravel is very user friendly for humans and their furry companions. The honeycomb cells of the Nidagravel panels holds the gravel firmly in place, making walking over the surface stable and secure, even in heels. Bicycles, wheelchairs, strollers, motorcycles, cars, trucks...anything that rolls, will be able to navigate smoothly over the surface of the gravel filled Nidagravel panels. Nidagravel is ADA compliant for pedestrian, wheelchair, and bicycle usage.

Environmentally Thoughtful:

Nidagravel is also friendly to the environment. It is 100% permeable, allowing the water to filter through the soil to the water aquifer, better for the trees and plants. Minimizing site erosion and excessive water run off into the drainage system. Reducing the need for chemical weed killers by preventing weed growth under the panels.

Made from high quality 30% recycled Poly Propolene, the Nidagravel panels have a much lower carbon footprint compared to concrete block pavers or asphalt paving. Nidagravel has been continuously used for over 15 years throughout Europe, and when it is time to retire the panels, they are 100% recyclable.

Nidagravel also meets many LEED criteria in green building standards, as well as Heat Island Mitigation and Stormwater BMP and can be considered appropriate for Low Impact Development and Resilient Landscape Design.
